    This is a mother of pearl necklace & earring set with shells and simulated pearls . The necklace is approximately 20 " long. The pendant is about from the top of the bale 2 5/8" x 2 1/2". The earrings are for pierced ears and are about from the top of the hooks 3 1/2" x 3/4"

    Mother of pearl is produced by molluscs, mussels, oysters and abalone by producing a secretion called nacre which lines its inner shell. It is iridescent and strong. It is used in ornaments and jewelry.
