    Description

This sale is for the 6502 CPU wafer shown.  Includes case.
When you talk about historic CPUs, the 6502 CPU is no doubt a top of the list pick. It was originally designed in the mid 1970s by Chuck Peddle's team at MOS technology and licensed out to several different silicon fabricators for manufacture.
This one was fabricated at Rockwell International, the single largest producer of 6502 chips.
The processor was the first sold cheap enough to be picked up by computer hobbyists, like Steve Wozniak who built the Apple 1 around it. It became famous for it's use in the first commercial home computers ever sold. It launched Commodore, Apple, Nintendo, Atari, and many other companies. Even Rockwell's own AIM65 line of computers that were popular with engineers were built around the 6502 CPU.
Photos were taken under ordinary white lights.
I've got a wide selection of other collectable wafers in my store. Thanks for looking!
