    Description

Vintage 1960s Handmade Framed Mola Artwork w/ Burlap
This Mola was stitched by the skillful hands of the Kuna Indians
living on the San Blas Islands of the coast of the Republic of Panama.
The Mola is one of the last primitive art forms; a variation of the reverse
appliqué craft passed down from generation to generation.
Mola features a dress with two smaller dresses on each side.
Beautifully made, lots of extra stitching for detail.
Wooden frame mounted on another frame piece of burlap to create
a dimensional effect with burlap mat.
Fabric has faded some with age.
There are a few places where the stitches have come apart (pic# 5, 6,& 7).
Small stain close to the bottom of the artwork (pic# 6).
Some white paint on one side of the frame (pic# 8).
    There are no holes!
