    Description

This Kuna Mola measures about 18" x 14".
Folks, some time ago I bought a box of molas from the children of missionaries that served in the San Blas Islands in the 1950-1960 period. The Islands are home to the Kuna mola artists so of course they became collectors.
This mola is in superb condition for its age. Folks, the colors are really bright which tells me these molas were stored in a dark place. That's not unusual because molas are usually stored stacked one on the other.
This design reminds me of my Army days. These things were buzzing all over the place. I was in Panama and I suspect the artist saw them as often I did so she decided to make a mola with a helicopter. Maybe a helicopter pilot will see it.
Look at the stitching on the reverse side. There is a lot of time in this mola.
Shipping is included within the USA.
