This is a cultured freshwater pearl necklace with smoky quartz and citrine and a mother of pearl flower clasp. The necklace is about 19 " long when it is untwisted. It is shorter if it is twisted.
Mother of pearl is producted by molluscs, mussels, oysters and abalone by producing a secretion called nacre which lines its inner shell. It is iridescent and strong. It is used in ornaments and jewelry.
CARE
Avoid harsh chemicals , perfumes and certain soaps which can damage the mother of pearl. Remove when doing housework and cooking. Clean with a soft or jewelry cloth. Store separately from other jewelry in a soft cotton bag out of direct sunlight.
