    ARTIFACT:
    Early 1900’S Fire Mark from Home Insurance Co. of New York. The black and gold painted tin fire mark is in remarkable condition and reads: “INSURED HOME NEW YORK”. Fire marks were purchased from firefighting companies by building owners as a way to guarantee help whenever a fire occurred.

    Circa early 1900’s

    Approximately 8” x 5 ¼”
    CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS:
    Painted tin.
