Original signed poster of the Blankenship Ballet Company featuring legendary stars of the Cuban Ballet signed by 17 principal dancers including Jose Esquivel, Bertha Suarez (Blankenship), Jose Manuel Carreno, and Lorena Feijoo, January 11, 2003, matted and framed under Plexiglas with the biographies and photos of the dancers that comprised two pages of the playbill, 21 by 40 inches, in near excellent condition as there are a few minor scratches to the Pleixglas.  The majority of the Cuban dancers sought asylum from Cuba when they danced outside Cuba.  Even though they were rock stars in their home country, the repertoire of the Cuban Ballet was limited and the dancers were denied the chance to dance in many great ballets or with the best dancers in the world.   Bertha Suarez was one of the great stars who left and moved to Los Angeles where she married and eventually began to use her married name Blankenship.
The full dance troupe included Jorge Esquivel, Bertha Suarez, Jose Manuel Carreno, Lorena Feijoo, Ramon Moreno, Angelica Diaz, Ariel Cisneros, Yoira Esquivel, Patricia Perez, Guillermo Leyva, Radel Vasquez, Ruth Fentroy, Ramon Ramos Ayalo, Maydee Pena, Jennifer Goodman, Silfredo La O Vigo, Heather Ross, and Juliana Bertelsen.
Condition Notes:
In near excellent condition as the Plexiglas has a few minor scratches.
