hand carved red wood masks of Daoist deity are dry wood hand-carved and made in China
Give your home a decadent look while appreciating the Daoist deities' heritage.  This mask is made of redwood with
excellent details and alabaster eyes. The male mask represents Long Wang - Dragon King
"Daoism, also spelled Taoism, indigenous religio-philosophical tradition that has shaped Chinese life for more than 2,000 years. In the broadest sense,
a Daoist attitude toward life can be seen in the accepting and yielding, the joyful and carefree sides of the Chinese character, an attitude that offsets
and complements the moral and duty-conscious, austere and purposeful character ascribed to Confucianism. Daoism is also characterized by a positive, active attitude
toward the occult and the metaphysical (theories on the nature of reality), whereas the agnostic,
pragmatic Confucian tradition considers these issues of only marginal importance, although the reality of such issues is, by most Confucians, not denied." Sourced From Britannica

Please view photos closely. No chips in wood. In excellent condition considering it's age. Very old intricate piece that took much skill to make! Needs to be cleaned and maybe polished but I'm too scared to mess up the piece! I will leave that for you to do 😊  no signature on mask. Dragons on each side of headdress with teeth not sure if it's made from real teeth or bone but it's a tough material so it could be. Really intricate art piece!! Any questions please ask!
